IPL-technology was developed to go beyond the limitations of laser technology. It is the most effective permanent hair removal method today! Fewer treatments are needed to achieve the desired results than with laser technology. With one pulse, laser treats a significantly smaller area (max. 1.44 cm²), while IPL-machines treat 6.4 cm². The wavelength of the light cannot be changed with lasers, which means that its parameters cannot be adjusted to the skin type and hair colour, but with pulsed light treatments this can be achieved.

Pulsed light technologies use pulsed hand-held flash lamps, which emit micro pulses of light at visible and invisible wavelengths. The mild, frequent light pulses are transformed into thermal energy, which means that pulsed light can make the hair follicles permanently inactive, avoiding re-growth. The method is based on the so-called "selective photothermolysis". With this method it is possible to treat only the required areas (e.g., hair follicles, vascular lesions, pigmented lesions) by using heat (which causes coagulation) without damaging the tissues around the treated area.
The lamp does not emit ultraviolet light, so the risk of tumour disease does not increase.

Application areas:

Hair removal: Non-invasive, clean and relatively painless treatment for the permanent reduction of hair on any body size: from small areas (bikini line) to larger areas such as legs and back. Suitable for all skin colours and hair types, except grey and white hair. 5-8 treatments are recommended in every 4-12 weeks.

Acne: Ideal drug-free treatment of mild and moderate inflammatory acne, by reducing the number of papules and pustules by 60-65% (8 treatments for 1 month). This is achieved in three steps: blue light destroys bacteria, yellow light causes the coagulation of blood vessels which feed the acne, and infrared heat dries the lesions.

Skin Rejuvenation: Skin rejuvenation treatment targets the three main elements of sun-damaged, aging skin – sun spots, small dilated blood vessels (telangiectasias) and skin textural changes, such as small wrinkles and enlarged pores. Suitable for the face, neck, chest and hands, it improves skin homogenization, texture and glow to obtain a younger, fresher look. In the case of mild wrinkles and enlarged pores, light stimulates collagen production. Treatments: 4-6 treatments altogether, once a month.

Vascular and Pigmented Lesions: Effective treatment of a range of vascular and benign pigmented skin lesions (e.g., hemangioma, PWS, lentigo solaris, keratoses, age spots, varicose veins, melasma and rosacea). This is achieved by providing sufficient skin penetration to efficiently coagulate small blood vessels, darkening them or making them disappear due to contraction. When treating superficial veins, the oxy-haemoglobin in the veins absorbs the light, making the blood coagulate and thus making varicose veins break up into smaller parts, after which they are absorbed through the lymphatic system. When treating pigmented lesions, the targeted areas absorb the light and heat up but are not burnt. Thermal energy breaks up pigmented lesions that disappear or come to the surface of the body and form scabs, then come off within 1-2 weeks. 3-6 treatments are recommended once a month.
